To the south of the main island of Viti Levu are a cluster of islands, the largest of which is Kadavu - Fiji's fourth largest island.
What to see and do ... Of volcanic origin, Kadavu is extremely rugged in places, and much of it is covered in rainforest. For the adventure tourist, there are excellent treks to This makes it rich to waterfalls and lookouts. Of particular note is the tropical flora and the wildlife that includes musk parrots and other rare birds. Getting around can be a little difficult as there are few roads on the island.
Apart from the adventure travel aspects, the main attractions of Kadavu are its exceptional diving along the Astrolabe Reef (30 km long), its surfing breaks.
Getting There
There are passenger ferry services from Suva to both Kadavu as well as to Ono and the eastern tip of Kadavu. Local domestic air services run regular scheduled flights to the Kadavu air strip from both Nadi and Suva.
